Clearinghouse
The Love INC’s Clearinghouse staff and specially trained volunteers receive requests for help by telephone. A thorough intake is conducted and requests are reviewed as to their nature, extent of need and legitimacy. The request is then referred to an appropriate resource, i.e. church ministry, church volunteer or community agency. Love INC follows up to ensure the needs were met and to offer spiritual support. For requests for help please call our client line (360-671-6201) Monday through Friday from 9 to 1.
Services provided by churches and church volunteers:
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Minor household repairs and maintenance
- Moving assistance (need at least 10 days notice)
- Financial assistance on a limited basis
- Haircuts, work shoes, and other job related needs
- Visitation (in home or care center)
- Provide meals during short term illness or disability
- Firewood
Other services provided:
- Referrals to resources in the community, i.e. housing, shelter, energy, available DSHS funds
- Brainstorming with clients to encourage them to meet their own needs
- Listening ear
- Prayer
